The Works Novels
The Works Novels is the house for long-form fiction, with guides to the form: its history, its genres and how a novel is built.
What this house is for.
This house is concerned with long-form fiction: how the novel arose, how its kinds are described, how it is put together on the page, and how people read it today. The guides here are reference material drawn from encyclopedic, scholarly and survey sources, with the evidence and its limits stated plainly. They are written for adult readers in the UAE and worldwide who read in English.

We publish a claim only when we have opened its source and read the passage that supports it. Each guide lists its sources with the date and a short quotation, so you can check us. Where evidence is mixed or weak, we say so. These guides are general information, not professional or medical advice.
